Bowling News

Portal News

No Winter League bowling this week so we have to dip into our reserves to ensure we post at least one story a day. I am delighted to tell you that will include the first postings from our new member League as we launch the Liberal League pages on HuddWeb.

With the decision to delay the restart of the Winter League season we are once again short of content to add to the website but regardless of that we will be making a posting every day of the coming week. That is expected to include ....

  • The results of the Winter League Survey

  • What does a good team captain look like?

  • The Liberal League pages on HuddWeb will be made open to all

  • Another new league joins HuddWeb announcement

  • An update on the Junior League's fund-raising efforts

  • ... and probably lots more news we are still to learn about some of which might even come from you. Tell us your club news.

The number of visitors to the website continues its upward path as the average daily number of visitors to the site in December was 210 compared with 185 in November. That is a 13.5% increase and hopefully when we have some bowling to report on the numbers will continue to increase. Thank you for continuing to support the website.

The Top Four most viewed posts over the last week were:

The homepage photograph has changed today from the scenic views skirting the Meltham green to a 2010 wintery Dalton C&BC. I am once again grateful to David Catherine for submitting this great photo to add to our collection. How about sending me a winter scene of your club's bowling green for inclusion on the website or even the homepage? Snow scenes being especially relevant at this time of year and following the white mornings we have opened the curtains to over the last week. If you are viewing this site on a mobile phone or tablet you may not be able to see the homepage background photo.

If you like a posting on our homepage then a click on the red heart in the bottom right of that posting will push up the numbers. It is anonymous so don't worry that someone will deduct what you don't tick but it does help to get some positive feedback sometimes and helps us to provide more similar postings in the future.

This week we passed the 100 Website Members milestone and numbers continue to increase. Being a Member allows you to add your comments to any of the homepage posts and you also get an optional email notification every time a new post is added to the homepage. Become a Member by providing your name and email address, that's all there is to it.

We will be pleased to add your club green photo to our collection and share with other members and maybe even put it on the Homepage. Old team photos are always of interest to our readers as well as photos of greens in days-gone-by. Then if you want to add the story of your year in 2020 then please feel free to do so. So please send us any information about your club, changes in buildings, people or teams and send us any updates and photos that you are happy to share.
