Veteran's KO entry deadlines extended

Veterans League

The Veterans League has had a disappointing number of entries for their individual and pairs KO competitions (which makes them easier to win of course) so has extended the closing deadlines in the hope of attracting more bowlers to these well-established competitions.

Covid restrictions have meant that none of these competitions has been contested since 2019 and the League is keen to get their competitions re-established on the bowling calendar. The entry deadlines that have passed have been scrubbed but those entries already received will hold good.

There are 6 such competitions in numerous formats and catering for bowlers of all standards. The Lower Division Trophy is only open to bowlers who have played a minimum of 3 matches this season in Division 3, 4 or 5 of the 10-man league or for a team in the 6-man league. No bowler who has played in Divisions 1 or 2 of the 10-man league is allowed to bowl in this competition. Handicapping is also in force to even out the playing field even more.

The most prestigious title is the Rosebowl which is open to all Veterans League bowlers. There are also competitions for the Over-70's, Over-80's, Pairs and Over-70's Pairs,

The first new deadline is tomorrow (Friday 6 May) and this is for the Over-70s with first round matches being played the following Friday (13 May). The full list of competitions, the revised entry deadlines and dates for all the rounds are listed below. Entry will cost you £2 so get your entries into the Competiton Secretary at sykesdavid257@gmail.com and aim high, what have you got to lose?
