Kirkheaton teams dominate Sub-Team KO

There are two bowling clubs in Kirkheaton and both are represented in the Semi-Finals of the Sub-Team Knock-Out. In fact there are three teams from Kirkheaton in the last four with a Kirkheaton C&BC A v Kirkheaton C&BC B tie to savour.

That offers one of the Kirkheaton teams a guaranteed place in the Final. Both teams had good wins to clinch their places in the Semi-Finals leaving Meltham B and Brockholes B out in the cold.

In the top half of the draw the third team from Kirkheaton - Kirkheaton Cons B - beat the team that had beaten them 10-days earlier in a League fixture. That day saw Hemplow B defeat the Cons team by 6-3 on their own green. But KO bowling brings a different complexion to bowling and so it proved once again as the Cons won all four singles after being 2-points adrift after the three pairs had finished.

They will play Marsh Lib A in the Semi-Finals who will have to give their opponents a 23 points handicap start so anything can happen on the day. The Marsh Lib team defeated Marsh United B to earn bragging rites and a place in the Semi-Finals.

The draw for the Semi-Finals to be played on Thursday 7 August are above with the Kirkheaton C&BC A v B team tie to be played on their home green. The Cons match against Marsh Lib A will be on a neutral green still to be announced.
