Is the BCGBA really holding a SGM?

Bowling News

It's a simple question - 'Is the BCGBA holding a Special General Meeting?' Well, I know that they are, but it certainly isn't because I have been made aware of that through any official channel. One would have thought that such important information would find its way on to the expensive and long-time-coming BCGBA website. Not a mention anywhere despite the proclamation below declaring that the website 'keeps you informed about important announcements'. Oh no it doesn't. That is what it says it is doing but isn't. The latest news on the BCGBA website is 31 August 2026. Almost two months past.

Yorkshire CCGBA is equally as incompetent in keeping members informed of such events. I understand that the Yorkshire CCGBA is to hold an unscheduled meeting of its Executive Board on 31 October to discuss the BCGBA SGM. However no notice of that has been shared with member clubs and leagues in Huddersfield. How do members of the Yorkshire Board learn what members think about the current situation? How do clubs and leagues make their views known at the next level?

The latest news item on the Yorkshire CCGBA website announces the passing of Derrick Radley. Derrick actually passed away on 19 June 2023. What is the point of that website. The YCCGBA will tell you that a new website is in development and has been for over two years now. No money should be spent on a new website until they work out who is going to maintain and update it.

I am trying to pull together more information about the Yorkshire and BCGBA meetings to share with you but I shouldn't have to, should I?
