Junior League
The Junior League's fund-raising appeal has now passed the end of January deadline and raised a massive total of £5,545 through the Just Giving page that was set up specifically for the appeal. In addition there was another Just Giving page also in use which added a further £180 to the grand total.
Over 100 individuals, clubs, organisations and businesses contributed to the Appeal, a marvellous response. So adding both Just Giving totals together plus the £5,000 Match It sum from the One Community Fund creating a truly magnificent response to the appeal of £10,725.
This sum will be used to set off the 'Restart in 2021' campaign to be launched by the Junior League to attract young bowlers to the sport after a torrid year. All the money raised through the appeal will be used to re-energise the push to get youngsters to play crown green bowls and introduce the many benefits to a wider audience.
League Secretary, Geoff Martin, has ambitious plans to use the money raised to galvanise local junior bowling and you can read what those plans are and how you can help by following this link. The League is very grateful to each individual, club and league that supported this venture which will set the league up with the best possible chance of extending its numbers and helping to secure the future of bowling in Huddersfield.
