Preview of the fixtures scheduled for Divisions 4&10 for Monday 8 December

The thing about only having 8 teams in each division is that practically every week there is a Top 2 or Bottom 2 key fixture and this week is no exception in Division 4. The top two are level on the 34-point mark. They are also level on the 'Aggregate For' totals (370-370) but Elland WMC have the advantage of the 'Aggregate Difference' over Primrose Hill Lib to take the top spot by 45-15. However that will all count for little should one of the teams outperform their title rivals this Monday. The Elland side are the form team having won their last 5 matches whilst Primrose Hill Lib haven't won either of their last two fixtures. However Primrose Hill Lib did win the match 6-2 when the teams met in October.
We also have the bottom two teams level on points (21-21) with just 9 difference in the 'Aggregate For' totals (338-329) putting Lindley Lib C above Huddersfield Recreation Club in the table. The two teams play the teams in 3rd and 4th places this Monday with bottom team Huddersfield Recreation Club meeting 4th-placed Linthwaite Hall A who have the record of winning and losing alternate matches all season. It is their turn to lose this week! Lindley Lib C take on 3rd-placed Milnsbridge B who will be keen to preserve their advantage over Linthwaite Hall A who they are level on points with and only 4 points behind the two leaders.
That just leaves Brockholes A and Netherton Con A to meet up with only 2 points separating the two teams at present with both needing points to keep them out of the range of the bottom two teams.

It is two weeks since Thongsbridge lost for the first time this season went they went down 2-6 to Hemplow B and lost the leadership of the Division 10 table. With last Monday's postponement they have had some time to reflect on that before facing lowly Lindley Lib E this Monday. That last defeat pushed Hemplow B into the promotion race with the leaders, Rastrick, pulling away and opening a 6-point lead so nor more slipups allowed if Thongsbridge want to be considered a real challenger.
That challenge may be helped by the clash between Rastrick and Hemplow B this week as the chasers attempt another pullback of the leaders. The bottom two teams go up against each other both starting on the 8-points mark. Brockholes D team are still looking for their first win of the season but did avoid a fifth consecutive defeat last time with a most commendable 4-4 draw with Skel Windmill. They will look to build on that when playing fellow strugglers Outlane B this week.
Skel Windmill remain unbeaten but 3 of their 5 fixtures have ended in draws which has kept them on the fringe of the top three places. They will attempt to address that imbalance when taking on Lindley Lib D in what will be the final fixture for the Division 10 teams to play on the Lindley Lib green. From next Monday (15 December) they will move to Netherton Cons to complete their other 8 fixtures.
