Coming up this week ....

Updated: Dec 6, 2020

Portal News

Coming up this week on HuddWeb are lots of postings that we know about and probably some news that is still to happen. What I do know is that over the next 7 days I expect to post news items about the following ...

  • A further 176 photographs from the Veterans League archives covering the main events in 2018

  • A posting on bowling etiquette as covered in the 1970's version of the Ladies Works League Rules as compared against the 2019 version of the same set of rules

  • The Winter League resumes bowling next Thursday so inevitably there will be a Match Preview online on Wednesday and a Results Review on Friday

Starting on Tuesday - NAME THE GREEN. Testing your local knowledge by sharing with you a snapshot of a local bowling green and challenging you to name the green. Will run alternate days during December. Just-for-fun competition open to all-comers or just play it on your own.

Then of course there will be other things that arise during the week ahead that will find their way on to the site. Maybe you know of something happening at your club or in local bowling circles that you can share with us?

The top three most viewed Homepage postings last week were:

Visitor numbers to HuddWeb continue to increase with the average daily number of visitors over the first two weeks of HuddWeb going live have been:

Last Week (20-26 Nov) Daily Average: 204 Best Day: Tuesday 24th - 300 visitors

Previous Week (13-19 Nov) Daily Average: 162 Best Day: Friday 13th - 223 visitors

Talking about the Homepage you may have noticed that the Homepage green photo has changed today. I will be changing it weekly to refresh the welcome so photos of your, or someone else's, are always well received. Last week the Homepage saw the Linthwaite Hall green welcoming all website visitors and to the fore this week we have Rastrick Bowling Club in the floodlights.

We will be pleased to add your club green photo to our collection and share with other members and maybe even put it on the Homepage. So please send us any information about your club, changes in buildings, people or teams and send us any updates and photos that you are happy to share.
