There are 9 Division 1 teams among the last 32 in the 2022 Bistro competition and they all avoid playing each other in the Round 2 line-up. This heightens the chances of surprise results which always come along as standard in this unique format competition. The format of 5 Pairs with handicaps and aggregate totals determining the winners always creates a spate of giant-killing results.
Division 2 side Almondbury BC 'A' knocked out Division 1 Golcar Lib in the last round and are rewarded with another Division 1 opponent as they will take on Longwood on the beautiful playing surface at Outlane. This is just one of the six ties where Division 2 sides take on Division 1 opposition and there will be some obvious opportunities for more surprise results once again.
Marsh United 'A' will continue the defence of their title as Bistro Champions with a second round tie against League newcomers Linthwaite Hall. The Hall has had a good start to their Division 3 campaign and will have a 16-point handicap start on their Division 1 rivals but this will be the ultimate test of their potential.
There are three Division 5 sides still in contention and they will relish taking their handicap advantage to test out the credentials of higher placed opponents, none more so than David Brown Sports who eliminated Division 2 side Thorpe Green in Round 1 and now take a 12-point aggregate advantage when they take on Division 4 strugglers Brockholes 'B'. Holmfirth 'B' have an even bigger handicap swing with a 28-point lead when facing Division 2 side Netherton Con 'A'. The full Round 2 line-up is below.
