Preview of the Division 5 fixtures to be played at Netherton on Thursday 26 January

Two weeks to go in the Division 5 promotion race and it looks like any 2 from 3 at present. Four points separate Thorpe Green 'C', Almondbury BC 'B' and Milnsbridge 'C' who all remain in the race.

The Almondbury team leads the way at present after their 6-2 win over Thorpe Green 'C' last week and extended their unbeaten run to 8 matches at the same time. This week they appear to have the best fixture when they take on foot of the table Huddersfield RUBC so anything other than a win would be a major shock.

However Milnsbridge and Thorpe Green will be concentrating on their own matches as they take on Netherton Con 'B' and Springwood 'C' respectively. Any faltering at this stage would hand over the initiative to their opponents and with only one more match after this round that could prove too big a hurdle to overcome. Golcar C&BC and Brockholes 'B' are only playing for pride (and for the fun of it of course) when they meet up on Thursday with Golcar no doubt recalling their early season 6-2 win over this week's opponents.
