As part of the new Unofficial Website of the Veterans League we are pleased to continue loading up all 43 monthly newsletter created and circulated between January 2017 and July 2020.
The issues covering the first 6 months of 2018 are the latest to be released and reissued today and are now online for your information and nostalgic look back at a time when we actually played bowls.
A short introduction to each of the latest six issues to be re-released is below to enable you to select those of particular interest or maybe you would like to read them all in chronological order.
No.13 January 2018 (9 pages) The 'My Bowling Life' focus was on Cowcliffe stalwart Bob Swan and added some of the photos from his impressive collection; Marsh Lib entered a team in the League and we had a photo of Fantasy League winner Bob Singleton collecting his prize
No.14 February 2018 (9 pages)
Mags and Tony Emerson were the feature of the 'My Bowling Life' slot; there was build-up to the imminent AGM; £120 pot in the Fantasy League competition and the difficulty of slotting the returning teams of Longwood and Lockwood Cons into the 6-man league were discussed.
No.15 March 2018 (8 pages) Alan Hirst took over as President of the HDVBA and was also the subject of the 'My Bowling Life' article this month. The League lost a long-term sponsor after Armitage Leisure withdrew after ten years of supporting the League.

Listing 32 pre-season bowler transfers and 31 newly registered bowlers; the full team-by-team preview of the coming season with tips for the top and finish of each Section.
No.17 May 2018 (8 pages)
A post-mortem of the debacle of the opening day of the season when all eleven 6-Man League fixtures were cancelled due to heavy snow, well it was Easter Monday after all; the Inter-District fixture list was released and the story of the now-defunct HC&AC bowling club was told.
No.18 June 2018 (7 pages)
Initial thoughts on how the League might celebrate and commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the League were discussed in advance of the 2020 Anniversary season; the Inter-District team didn't start the season well going down to Wakefield who were recording their first win in 4 years in the competition.
