Division 1 leaders out of Team KO again

For a second consecutive season the top two teams in Division 1 were drawn against each other in the opening round of the Team KO competition and for the second consecutive season Longwood eliminated Lowerhouses from the competition. Longwood will be hoping that the history will continue and a repeat of last year's Final success will follow and take them to a third consecutive Final title.

History repeating itself stopped this year for Cowcliffe as they became the second scratch time to be eliminated from the competition at this stage when going down 106-144 to Golcar Lib A. After losing in the final for the last three years, that piece of history is now behind them.

Wins for lower Division teams than their opponents occured in 8 of the ties with surprise wins for Denby Dale (over Lockwood Con A), Almondbury Lib (over Rastrick), Springwood (over Elland WMC), Lindley Lib B (over Thongsbridge A), Golcar Lib B (over Shepley), Brockholes A (over Waterloo), Meltham A (over Elland C&BC) and Slaithwaite (over Hemplow A). The handicap difference played a part in some of those results but that is what it is there for.
