The opening round of the 2026 Sub-Team KO didn't produce any real giant-killing acts where teams eliminated an opponent from a higher division. In fact it only produced two results where the higher handicapped team overcame a lower handicapped opponent. One of those involved the reigning title holders as Kirkheaton Con B saw off fellow Division 4 rivals Lockwood Con B by 147-136. Unfortunately for the losers is the fact that handicaps are taken from the final league positions of the previous season when the Kirkheaton Con B team were in Division 5 and Lockwood Con B were in Division 3.

The other 'handicap giant-killing' act came at Lindley Lib where Greenhead Park overcame fellow Division 5 rivals Primrose Hill Lib by 150-137 although the same last-season fact has to be taken into account. That also means that all four scratch teams will be playing in the next round which will be played on Thursday 4 June with the draw below but with the neutral greens still to be finalised.
