Bowling News
Local bowling clubs continue to receive financial support from the Government through Kirklees Council. The Local Restrictions Support Grant is available to clubs that have been forced to close as a result of the latest National Lockdown. This second payment of £2,001 should be paid automatically to those clubs that previously received the £10,000 one-off grant paid as a result of the first National Lockdown. In addition a further one-off grant of £4,000 is also being paid automatically.
The following extract is from the guidance on the Kirklees Council website:
For businesses legally required to close during the latest national lockdown, in force from 5 January 2021.
All businesses that are registered for business rates and have been legally required to close as a result of the National Lockdown from 5 January are eligible for an additional one-off top-up grant.
If you have already applied for or received a Local Restrictions Support Grant for help after 5 August 2020 you do not need to re-apply after 5 January 2021. We will use the information we already have to continue to make the grant payments you are eligible for, including the additional one-off payments.
The one-off top-ups will be granted to closed businesses on a per property basis as follows:
£4,000 for businesses with a rateable value of £15,000 or under
£6,000 for businesses with a rateable value between £15,000 and £51,000
£9,000 for businesses with a rateable value of over £51,000
Full Details are available on the Kirklees Council website
How come all the clubs that pay rates are able to get grants when clubs that don't get nothing. Some of these grants are for money than the outgoings that some of these clubs pay. How about some help from the Council for the others. £10,000 last year and say £2,000 this year is to me, a lot of money.
