£2,667 KMC grant for bowling clubs

Bowling News

As previously reported the government are allocating further funds to help the leisure and hospitality industry ride out the impact of COVID and details have started to become available on the Kirklees MC website.

This latest grant will benefit clubs with a rateable value up to £15,000 the sum of £2,667. Those clubs with higher rateable values may be eligible for a grant of up to £6,000. All the details can now be found here although the process for claiming the grant is not yet available online. Some other local councils have got to the next stage and I am aware of at least one Yorkshire Council that has already paid out this grant to many sport and leisure organisations in their area. I am sure that KMC will be following up with that shortly and I will let you know via the website as soon as I am aware of that.

Kirklees indicate that they will contact clubs that were awarded grants earlier in the year to invite them to self-certify that their circumstances haven't changed and confirm that they are still eligible to benefit from the grant.

This latest grant is known as the 'Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant' scheme and is to cover the period December 2021 to March 2022 and is based on the rateable value of the club property as of 31 December 2021. This grant is not available to bowling clubs that don't have their own premises such as clubs based on park greens.
