Lindley BC go top of Division 1

Veterans League

Review of the Tuesday results in Divisions 1 & 2 of the Veterans 10-Man League

Just three weeks into the new season and no Division 1 team has a 100% unbeaten record. The last three unbeaten teams all lost on Tuesday. Marsh United A drop from 1st to 4th after losing 2-7 at Lowerhouses, Golcar Lib A lost 4-5 at Kirkheaton Con and Waterloo went down 3-6 away at Lockwood Con who now sit in second position in the table.

All that activity left promoted Lindley BC A in pole position after beating Cowcliffe 8-1and Lowerhouses move up two places to third. That result left Cowcliffe as one of two teams still looking for their first wins of the season along with Netherton Con who made it 3 defeats from 3 matches after a 3-6 home loss to Rastrick.

Different story in Division 2 where three teams remain unbeaten. Meltham clocked up their second 9-0 home win when beating Alomondbury BC A to be four points ahead of Elland C&BC who hit Almondbury Lib for eight. New Mill A hold the third unbeaten record after a 6-3 home win over Broad Oak A but have to settle for fourth place. Milnsbridge A sit 3rd after a 6-3 home success over Shepley.

Golcar Lib B also amassed an 8-1 scoreline when beating Linthwaite Hall who remain firmly rooted to the foot of the table. Lindley Lib A and Thongsbridge A started matchday level on 10-points with the Thongsbridge side in 4th place and Lindley Lib in 6th. A 6-3 win for Lindley Lib A changed all that and they moved up to 5th position overtaking Thongsbridge A in the process who finished the day in 7th position.
