Yorkshire Juniors beat Shropshire Juniors

Bowling News

Congratulations to the Yorkshire Juniors who beat their Shropshire counterparts in the BCGBA Junior County Championship earlier today. There are only 4 teams in the competition this year and the competition is being played in a Round Robin format.

The matches are played between two teams of 12, one playing at home and one away. The home leg this week was played at Almondbury Liberal Club and the away leg at Hanwood. One result is outstanding from the away leg at the time of writing this report but that will make little difference to the outcome regardless of the result. The Yorkshire home team won their leg by 246-182 and the away leg score currently stands at 210-174 with one match score still to add.

Having already beaten Wales 429-355 the team is now well-positioned to take the national title when they meet Staffordshire in the final round of matches to be played on Sunday 10 July. The team gaining the most points from the three matches will be crowned the County Champions and will receive the Jim Grant Memorial Trophy.
