There are 20 or so clubs that have not paid their fees for 2020 and following a survey
of districts it was agreed that these fees are still due. In line with the BCGBA stance
on fees we will also give clubs an extension until 31st January 2021 to pay to take
advantage of the discount offered for 2021.
If any club who has yet to pay the fees for 2020 is in severe financial difficulty please contact the CEO and this will be discussed by the YCCGBA Council (evidence may be requested)

AGM
The AGM scheduled for 13th February 2021 is suspended until further notice, the
Executive have rolled over everything from 2021 with the officers carrying on for a
further year in their current roles with the exception of Alan Stephenson who wishes
to relinquish his position as Joint Interim CEO.
Honoraria and Expenses
The 2020 AGM agreed a total of £7935 excluding the auditor for Honoraria and
Expenses.
During 2020 the 9 Officers of the Association have undertaken the necessary work to
ensure the Association continued to function efficiently during the year, this resulted
in Officers sharing the workload rather than working as per job description, we
therefore agreed that the Honoraria/expenses paid to these 9 officers for 2020 is
£2400. This is 30% of that agreed at the AGM and shows a saving of over £5500.
Whilst there hasn’t been the normal amount of bowling there have been an equal if
not substantially more in email telephone calls and communications to be dealt with.
Accounts At the time of communicating the BCGBA accounts are not available as yet but expected any time YCCGBA year-end is 31st December and accounts are in preparation for the Auditor, a copy of the accounts will be issued around the original AGM dates, there will be a surplus and whilst we have no desire to make a large surplus we also must ensure we do not make a loss. Unlike many clubs we are unable to benefit from the many grants available. Communication from BCGBA BCGBA issued some communications and we were hoping that the BCGBA accounts would have been produced which would have given clubs and districts more detail to digest the information. The focus for 2021 is Back to Bowling and details have also been sent out on this please refer to the BCGBA website for full details www.bcgba.org.uk 2021 Who knows what 2021 will hold, we have planned for the season to commence as normal but it is looking increasingly unlikely, we are therefore making other plans and will communicate these in due course as lockdown measures are eased. CEO YCCGBA Alan Stephenson has stepped down from his role as joint CEO of YCCGBA and Steven Cochrane will undertake the role for 2021 (contact details as above). The Council would like to thank Alan for all of his time and wise advice in what has proved to be a difficult year and not because of bowling matters. Pleased that the BCGBA has reduced the levy from £35 to £20 and the YCGBA has reduced its levy from £92.50 to £50 and also honoraria from £7935 to £2400.
I note the comment that the accounts of the YCGBA will show a surplus and agree that it should not make a loss. However in these difficult financial times for Clubs perhaps it would not have been unreasonable to aim to break even in order to give a bigger reduction in the 2021 levy.
The argument would be that the YCGBA would start the 2021 season in the same financial position as 2020 and so it would be no worse off.
Just a thought.
