Veterans League
The opening rounds of the 2024 Veterans League Over-70's KO competition will be held tomorrow when 29 bowlers will be whittled down to 8 to progress through to Finals Day. Finals Day is at Lockwood Con on Thursday 30 May.
The number of entries is down on last year's total of 32 entrants and way down on the 2022 total of 39 entrants when four greens were required for the opening rounds, only two are needed this year. Both of last year's finalists are among the 29 starters as Lowerhouses' bowler Graham Hirst defends his title along with the 2023 runner-up, Stuart Greaves (New Mill) who is in the other half of the draw.
The Preliminary Round will be played on two greens, Marsh United and Lindley BC, on Thursday 25 April and the split of bowlers over those two greens is below. This is not the draw which will be made on matchday.
