World Club Championship 2022 at Spen Victoria

Bowling News

Just a reminder that the 2022 World Club Championships take place over the next 5 Sundays at Spen Victoria starting a week today when 4 of the 16 qualifiers start the competition. The start time is 11am. The competition returns to Cleckheaton after being held there in 2019 which is the last time it was played for when the Greville Arms from Warwick & Worcester took the title back home with them.

The holders have not qualified this year, and it is left to the George Warley and Kings Heath Park to try and take the trophy back to Warwick and Worcester. Two strong local contenders with the Yorkshire representatives being Lower Hopton WMC and Pudsey BC. There are three past winners to have qualified and they are Parkfield, Lower Hopton and George Warley and they will all be looking to reclaim the trophy.

Local interest on the first Sunday with Pudsey BC taking on the Midlanders from Norton Sports on the top green. There are two Yorkshire challengers for the title with Lower Hopton following up the week after (Sunday 27 March).
