Winter League
No sooner has the summer season closed down than the Winter League season begins with the first round of fixtures at Primrose Hill Lib on Monday.
Primrose Hill Lib is a new host green to the League and has taken the place of Thorpe Green as the host for all Division 3 fixtures. The first round of fixtures looks like this and they start at 11.30am on Monday 2 October.
There are nine teams in each of the 6 divisions of the Winter League so one team has a bye every week. This week in Division 3 it is one of the two new teams to the League, Hanging Heaton, who sit the day out. The other new team in this division is Marsh United who have to face the host team in the opening round of matches. Both of the new teams are expected to mount a strong bid for promotion with the Marsh team having the first opportunity to send out a statement of intent to the other teams.
Also new to this division are Lindley Lib B and Milnsbridge B who were both promoted from Division 4 and they face Dalton and Thorpe Green B respectively. That leaves two teams who played at this level last season to face each other as Rastrick face Paddock I&C. Top picks in this division for Fantasy League entrants so far are Hanging Heaton and Marsh United with the former attracting a few more supporters than the Marsh team.
