Winter Cup
Pictures of the eight finalists to compete for the honour of being the first named winner of this new trophy are below. The Finals Day (or the Armband Final) is at Milnsbridge BC starting at 1:00pm tomorrow (Thursday 14th) when the League is experimenting by asking the finalists to wear coloured armbands to help spectators identify them.
The draw means that we are guaranteed a Division 3 representative in the semi-finals as the two bowlers from that division face each other in the opening round. Practice is available for all eight bowlers from 12.15pm.
All eight finalists have been regular bowlers throughout the winter league season and continue to play for their clubs in the summer season. Individual bowler handicap comes into play for Finals Day with the two Division 2 bowlers, Neale Wallace and Colin Hampshaw, have a +2 start whilst John Inman and Stephen Haigh start off with a +4 start as they play in Division 3 but as they play each other it cancels itself out. The four Division 1 bowlers will all play off scratch.
The Draw: Adrian Cooper v Lorraine Hirst Colin Hampshaw (+2) v Graham Hirst
John Inman (+4) v Stephen Haigh (+4)
Mike Thornton v Neale Wallace (+2)
