Who needs what in Vets 10man?

League News

Veteran's 10-Man League News

This is our rundown of all the contenders for titles, promotion or relegation to see who needs what, to reach, or avoid, that outcome. Division-by-Division we look at what is mathematically still possible with only 2 matches to go for all teams.

Section 1 Title: Lockwood Con 'A' need 14 points from their final 2 matches to guarantee to retain the title. Elland C&BC 'A' play 3rd placed Longwood on Tuesday with the loser probably out of the title race.

Relegation: Should Crosland Moor get 5 points from their last 2 matches then Thongsbridge 'A' will be relegated but Crosland Moor also need 14 points to be sure of avoiding relegation.

Section 2

Title: Kirkheaton Con 'A' have won the Section 2 title

Promotion: The second promotion place can still be taken by any of the next four teams but it is Lindley BC 'A's to lose. If they can muster 13 points from their final 2 matches then they will definitely be promoted.

Relegation: Kirkheaton C&BC 'A' are already relegated and will be joined by Paddock I&C if Lockwood Con 'B' can total 2 more points from their last 2 games.

Section 3

Title: Whilst mathematically fourth-placed Holmfirth 'A' can still win the title that is highly unlikely and it will be one of the 3 teams above them who will do that. Sixteen points from their last 2 games will guarantee the title for Slaithwaite

Promotion: Lowerhouses need 16 more points to guarantee their promotion.

Relegation: It is 2 from 3 at the foot of the table and that doesn't look good for Brockholes 'B' who are currently bottom and their final 2 matches are against top 3 teams.

Section 4 Title: Just 2 points separate Huddersfield Recreation and Denby Dale and one of them will take the title. The Recreation Club seem to have the easier run-in and will kick themselves if they let their current lead disappear.

Promotion: The Recreation Club and Denby Dale are already promoted to Section 3.

Relegation: Mathematically any 2 from 7 can still be relegated but the next Tuesday meeting of the bottom two teams, Kirkheaton Con 'B' and Netherton Con 'B' will go a long way to determining the final outcome.

Section 5

Title: Huddersfield RUBC lead the table by 2 points and their last two fixtures are against the teams in 2nd and 3rd places. New Mill 'B' poses the biggest threat and that encounter will be a final day event to savour. Before that New Mill 'B' have a home game against lowly Kirkheaton C&BC 'B' who haven't won an away match all season.

Promotion: Same story, any 2 from 3.

Wooden Spoon: Bottom team David Brown Sports have to play 3rd from bottom Broad Oak 'B' twice which will go a long way to deciding the destiny of the wooden spoon although Kirkheaton C&BC 'B' wedged between them could miss out with their two remaining matches being against two teams in the top 3.
