Review of the matches played in Divisions 3,4&5 of the 10-Man League on Tuesday

You have to go back over three years ago to the last time that Paddock I&C clocked up a 9-0 whitewash win. To 25 April 2023 to be exact when Meltham B were on the wrong end of that scoreline. That was a Division 3 match as it was again this year with Slaithwaite the victims this time around. That pulled the losers back into the relegation mix as they now sit just one point ahead of the Paddock team. Springwood were the only other team in the bottom half of the table to win their Tuesday match when they beat Skel Windmill 7-2 but remain in the relegation places for now.
It was a good day for the leaders, New Mill A, as they had an emphatic 8-1 home win over Kirkheaton C&BC A whilst their major rivals for the title were all involved in close encounters to drop points to the leaders. Lindley Lib B and Linthwaite Hall shared the aggregate points 117-117 with the home team winning the game count to take the points 5-4. Then Brockholes A were involved in another 5-4 scoreline as they won away at Thorpe Green but drop a place to 5th position. Golcar Lib B took advantage by inflicting an 8-1 home win over relegation-threatened Holmfirth A to move up two places to third.

Marsh Lib A take over at the top of the Division 4 table after swapping places with Kirkheaton Con B although both teams have 54 points and then the same Aggregate For count of 1164 points meaning they revert to the Aggregate Difference score to separate the two teams. That shows a 257-160 difference to send the Liberal club top of the pile.
A 7-2 home win for the Kirkheaton team over their perpetual rivals Huddersfield RUBC kept them very much in the hunt whilst a 6-3 away win for Thongsbridge B at Huddersfield Recreation Club saw them hold on to 4th place and are just 7 points off the top spot.
In what must be a one-off three of the bottom four teams won their fixtures this week by the same 6-3 scoreline. Working up from the bottom David Brown Sports won away at Brockholes B; Marsh United B beat Milnsbridge B by the same scoreline and Lockwood Con B also clocked up a home win, this time over Ravensknowle Park.

All the top three teams in Division 5 won their matches this week, the top two both recording 8-1 wins. Lindley BC B won by that same scoreline at home to Dalton, whilst Netherton Con B won away at bottom team Almondbury BC B. Third-placed Broad Oak B won away at Kirkheaton C&BC B by 6-3 and a 5-4 away win at Pip Hill for 5th-placed New Mill B means no change in the running order of the top five.
A 7-2 away win for Greenhead Park at Holmfirth B saw the two teams swap 8th and 10th places as did Hemplow B and Marsh Lib B (9th and 11th places) after the Hemplow team beat their visitors 8-1.
