What happened to the Champion of Champions?

The first Sunday in October has been the date reserved for the Huddersfield Champion of Champions competitions for many years - that's tomorrow. An appeal on Facebook went out in late August from the organisers for a sponsor and a host green to come forward. I am aware that at least one local club offered to sponsor and host the competition but they haven't been informed if that is now required or not.

I am also aware of at least one qualifier for the Champion of Champions who hasn't heard anything about arrangements either. There is no notification of this year's event anywhere that I can find. Does anyone know what has happened to this year's competition?
