The Sub-Team KO competition is a team knock-out competition for all the teams in the 10-Man League that finished outside the top 32 teams in the league programme last season. So that means all the teams in Divisions 4 and 5 and the bottom four teams from Division 3. The format of the competition is almost identical to league matches comprised of four singles and three pairs games. The only difference being that it is the aggregate score that determines the winners with the game count only coming into play if the aggregate scores are level.
Last season the Final was an all-Kirkheaton event with the village's Cons Club B team beating their friends from the Cricket & Bowling Club 156-144 at the traditional home of this final, Broad Oak. That was all after the two teams from the Cricket Club met in the semi-final where the B side overcame the club's A team 137-136.
Those three Kirkheaton teams are in the same quarter of the draw this year but have avoided each other in the opening round of matches.
