Veterans League
The latest round of matches in the Veterans Inter-District competition takes place this Friday with the top two teams going head-to-head in what may become the title decider. The Huddersfield team continues the defence of their title when they meet the current leaders West Riding. Twenty-one points separate the teams at present although the West Riding team has played a game more. The outcome of the competition will no doubt go to the final day of the season (Friday 19 August) when the West Riding team have their bye week with the full remaining fixture programme at the foot of this posting.
The home leg will be played at Huddersfield RUBC at Lockwood Park which will be the first time this green has been used this season. The previous three rounds of matches have seen the Huddersfield team playing at Thongsbridge and they are nearing the maximum number of four matches teams are allowed to play on the same green. The away leg will be played at Thornhill C&BC and both matches start at 1.00pm.
