Veterans League News

It is the final day of the Veterans 6-Man League season on Monday with a number of key issues still to be resolved. In our weekly preview of fixtures we look at which teams need what to confirm promotion or win the title or even to avoid relegation.
All such matters are already finalised in Section C but things are very tight at the top and bottom of Section A and the title race in Section B goes down to the last day as well.
Section A:
Title - Two points from their final day fixture away to Milnsbridge will secure the title for Shepley 'A'.
Relegation - The bottom two teams - Paddock I&C and Oakfield T&BC go head-to-head with the loser condemned to relegation. Lindley Lib (home v Brockholes 'A') and Longwood (away v Netherton Con) both need 2 points from their last games to send the other bottom 2 team down regardless of their result.
Section B:
Title - Honley Con lead Golcar C&BC by one point. Both have final day away matches with Honley Con at Primrose Hill Lib and Golcar C&BC at Skel Windmill 'A'. Honley Con will win the title if they win 7-0 or at least equal the Golcar C&BC result.
Promotion - Honley Con and Golcar C&BC are both promoted.
Relegation - Primrose Hill Lib and Golcar Lib are both already relegated.
Section C:
Title - Slaithwaite are the Section Champions
Promotion - Slaithwaite and Holmfirth 'A' are both promoted.
Wooden Spoon - has already gone to Shepley 'B'.
