Unbeaten records under threat

League News

It is top versus 3rd in the top Section this week when Section A leaders Shepley 'A' protect their unbeaten record as Oakfield come to visit and they will be super-confident after last week's 7-0 home win. Second-placed Crosland Moor have a distinctively winnable match at bottom of the table Lindley Lib whilst Thongsbridge 'B' will defend their unbeaten record when travelling to play Brockholes 'A'. Netherton Con are still playing catchup in defence of their title and will expect to make home advantage count when Milnsbridge come to visit. The two teams struggling to steer clear of the 2nd relegation spot, Paddock I&C and Longwood go head-to-head this week with the losers left to look over their shoulders in the coming weeks.

Skel Windmill 'A' could do their 'B' team colleagues a big favour by taking points off Section B leaders Marsh United to enable the 'B' team to narrow the current 4-point gap they lag behind the leaders. The 'B' side go to Golcar C&BC who have won their only game to date and will harbour ambitions of their own about their potential this season. Finishing third last year and just above the two Skel sides has given them all the incentive they need to launch a serious promotion challenge this year. Pre-season favourites Honley Con will want to provide a quick recovery from their surprise home defeat last week and get another home game to rectify matters when Clayton West are the visitors.

Three Section C teams have unbeaten records and they all avoid each other this week and all have home fixtures as leaders Almondbury Lib host Holmfirth 'A' and second placed Holmfirth 'B' entertain Shepley 'B'. Slaithwaite have played a game less than the other two and will expect to chip away at the points gap when Marsh Lib visit. The Marsh Lib side will be keen to pick up some points to move up from their 3rd from bottom position especially as the bottom two teams meet up at Thongsbridge where Brockholes 'B' are the visitors.
