Big shake-up last week with the top three teams all losing their matches at a rain-sodden Netherton Cons green. That allowed Almondbury BC 'B' to move into the promotion places but for how long?

This Thursday they take on the leaders Thorpe Green 'C' who will be looking to bounce back from their first defeat of the season when they went down 2-6 to Milnsbridge 'C'. Could be a close one but Thorpe Green have the insurance of a six-point lead as they go into this week's fixtures.

The surprise results from last week has opened up the pursuit of promotion places with 10 points separating the top five teams and everything to play for. Netherton Con 'B' and Springwood 'C' were the other two top three casualties from last week and they have the Rugby Club and Golcar C&BC respectively in their sights this week. Things could work out well for the Milnsbridge 'C' team as they meet bottom-of-the-table Brockholes 'B' although they will have been buoyed by last week's excellent first win over, what was then, second in the table Netherton Con 'B'.
