Whilst the other two divisions may be drifting towards an obvious end of season conclusion things are much tighter at the top of Division 3. Just two points separate the top two teams - Thorpe Green 'C' and Lindley BC 'B' - and next week they go head-to-head in what could be the title decider. Before then they both have matches this Monday that they need to win to ensure they are still in contention next week.
TOP TWO REMAINING FIXTURES

The leaders, Thorpe Green 'C' take on Dalton who will be smarting after a first defeat in eight matches last week when going down 0-8 to Lindley BC 'B' and will be looking to bounce straight back from that setback. However they will have it all on against the Thorpe Green team that hasn't lost a match since the opening day of the season although they have drawn four times including once against this Monday's opposition back in November.
Lindley BC 'B' remain well in contention for the title honours and are on a high after completing an 8-0 win double over Dalton last Monday. This week they take on a Huddersfield Recreation Club 'B' enjoying their best run of the season with 3 wins in their last 5 matches. Both the top two have to play the Recreation Club in their last 3 matches and this fixture will set the benchmark for Thorpe Green's last match of the season.

Our thoughts are with the Lowerhouses 'B' side with the passing this week of their team member Tony Booth. This week they have to face bottom of the table Springwood 'B' who have been punching above their weight recently and would love to double their win record before the end of the season and this week's fixture might present that opportunity.
Rastrick 'B' have won only one match more (6-5) than their opponents this week, Milnsbridge 'B', but sit 4 places and 14 points higher in the table as a result. The Rastrick side seem to have got over their mid-season dip to log a couple of good wins recently whilst the opposite is true of Milnsbridge who haven't won in their last 5 matches. Although neither team has a lot to play for in terms of league positions Rastrick especially will be keen to hold on to third place with two teams right behind them awaiting any slip-ups.
It all happens at Thorpe Green on Monday from 12noon when spectators are as always most welcome and the social gathering it has become around the green sometimes seems as important as the action on the green. Long may it continue.
