A review of the Division 5 fixtures played on Thursday 24 November

Of the 20 Division 5 fixtures played before last Thursday none had seen a drawn outcome. Four fixtures were played this week and two of them ended in 4-4 draws.

Leaders Thorpe Green 'C' would loved to have been in one of those drawn matches but instead, they lost for the second week on the bounce when going down 2-6 to their nearest rival, Almondbury BC 'B'. The gap between the two teams now stands at only 2 points whereas it had been 6 points 2 weeks previously.

Another big difference is the fact that Netherton Con 'B' also sat between the two teams two weeks ago but two defeats and now a drawn match 4-4 with the Rugby Club indicates a bad run of form after a prime opening to the season where they clocked up three straight wins. The second drawn match this week was between Milnsbridge 'C' and Brockholes 'B' who are starting to collect a few points and pull in the teams immediately above them in the table.

An end to the winning run of Golcar C&BC came when they went down 2-6 to Springwood 'C' and they slipped a place in the table as well, down to second from bottom. Golcar now have Brockholes 'B' as their next opponents with just two points between them and the bottom spot awaiting the loser of this match next Thursday.
