Commentary from the Facebook pages of Crown Green Bowling Competitions
Congratulations to the Wolf on his first win of this competition and I'm sure it won't be his last, for once the bookies were correct!! It wasnt easy for him though coming through some tough games in the last 8 and semis that could have gone either way...but well done Alex.
Huge commiserations to James Davison who came through the "qualifier of death" beating the current defending champion, 1 former winner, team mate's and good friends to get to the final.
As always thank you to sponsors Armitage Leisure Services for continuing your support for the competition in the 10th year running. Fox Engravers for supporting the running and putting up the highest break prize.
Thank you to all members Kirkheaton Con for helping keep things running on all the nights and getting stuck in, measuring, marking, food etc. The green keepers for providing an absolutely phenomenal playing surface especially during these unpredictable weather conditions.
Thanks to all bowlers who entered this year I hope you have all enjoyed playing in the competition and will enter again next year. We changed a couple of things this year, entry money upfront and draw done on the night which I think has made a positive impact. Roll on next year.
