The two Semi-Finals of the Team KO failed to provide the Dream Final of two teams from the same club going head-to-head. Both Lockwood Con teams failed to reach the Final. The 'A' team succumbed to the current holders of the title, Golcar Lib 'A' where three decisive pairs wins to single figures was key to the overall success of the title holders.
The Lockwood Con 'B' team defied their lowly status in Division 3 by winning three of the seven games against Division 1 opponents from Cowcliffe. Add to that their 18 handicap start meant that they just missed out by 8 points on progressing in this competition. They get another chance next Thursday when they are in the Semi-Finals of the Bistro KO with more Division 1 opposition when they take on Longwood for a place in the Final. However for this year at least the dream of a single team Final remains just a dream but it was enthralling while it lasted.
The Final will see the two Division 1 teams facing each other with the League meeting between the two teams in June saw Golcar Lib 'A' run out decisive victors on the Cowcliffe green by 7-2. However this is knock-out bowling and anything can happen, except an all-club final apparently. The Final has traditionally been staged at Lindley BC although no announcement has yet been made about the 2023 venue.
