Bowling News

It should almost feel normal as Step 3 guidance measures are introduced from today even though not everyone is ready to take that step yet. In essence what the changes mean for bowling are listed below.
Step 3: Monday 17 May – Key points From Monday 17 May until Step 4, the following applies to outdoor bowls:
Play is permitted in accordance with the format of play below
Bowls coaching and other curriculum-based activity is permitted
Greens maintenance is permitted
Car sharing is permitted in accordance with government guidance
Spectators are permitted in accordance with social distancing rules and social gathering limits (no more than group of 30 outdoors)
Clubhouses and facilities that serve both indoor and outdoor hospitality are permitted in accordance with government guidance. Social distancing rules and social gathering limits must be strictly adhered to.
Changing rooms can be opened in accordance with the guidance
Clubs are advised to continue with pre-booking systems
However everyone must recognise that not all bowlers will be accepting of the changes straight away as many are still cautious about returning to a full normal way of living. People should respect the views of everyone and accept that some will be hesitant about shaking hands, sharing car transport, receiving hospitality and some of the things that we used to take for granted. Be patient, we are getting there but some will get there a little later than others.
