Clayton West dismissed the best that Lowerhouses' A could do against them to extend their winning opening to the Division 2 season to three matches and three wins. A whitewash 8-0 scoreline sent out a message of intent to all the other teams that this season they mean business and nothing less than promotion is what they expect of themselves. That was a first defeat for the Lowerhouses team which saw them drop from 3rd to 6th place

The Lowerhouses B team also lost their Tuesday fixture going down 2-6 to old rivals New Mill B but those two points gained were enough to push them ahead of their club colleagues on the same 10-point score total. The New Mill B team move into 2nd place ahead of four other teams who have all enjoyed Division 1 status at some point in the League's history whereas this is all new territory to the New Mill side.

Marsh United will have a different viewpoint on how the season might pan out after inflicting a second successive 0-8 loss on Meltham A and they go third which is well within range of catching the leaders. That defeat for Meltham A puts them into the relegation places along with Lindley Lib A which is familiar home ground for both teams as they both came down from Division 1 last season and appear to be in danger of a repeat performance this time around.
