Review of the matches played in Divisions 3 & 5 on Wednesday 12 November

Almondbury BC B didn't win their Division 3 match for the first time this season when being held to a 4-4 draw by Thorpe Green C on Wednesday. That was a costly result as it allowed Slaithwaite to sneak past the previous leaders although they had to resort to an 8-point 'Aggregate Difference' to separate the pair. An 8-0 win for Slaithwaite being good enough to push them into the title-winning position, for now.
The top five teams in the table all have points totals in the 20's leaving the bottom three to squabble among themselves well adrift of the upper tier of teams. Lindley BC B are in that cluster of three teams having lost all five of their fixtures to date and staring at a second consecutive relegation. Lockwood Con A are also still looking for their first win of the campaign having lost for the 5th time this season, this time against Denby Dale who have made little of their 10-point starting penalty to move into the top half of the table.

The two Mirfield teams continue to head the Division 5 table on the same 20-points marker with the 'Aggregate For' totals still separating them. Both had 6-2 wins this Wednesday and both have Played 3 Won 3 in an exemplary start to their first season at this level. Dalton were a Division 3 team last season so that is a big step up for the Mirfield Old Bank team when they dismissed their opponents with an emphatic 62-43 aggregate win, just one point off a whitewash win. Kirkheaton C&BC A are a good benchmark opponent as last season they played 7 won 7 to be the solid mid-table exponent.
Jackson Bridge took a backward step this week when drawing 4-4 with Paddock I&C to drop two points behind the leading pair but well ahead of the fourth. placed team, Dalton. Thorpe Green B and Milnsbridge C swapped bottom two positions after the Milnsbridge team beat their nearest rivals 6-2 to move off the foot of the table and move levl on points with the two teams immediately above them.
