Holmfirth 'A' ended the unbeaten record of Section C leaders Slaithwaite this week with an impressive 5-2 home win over the runaway Section leaders. Although that was insufficient to dislodge Slaithwaite from top spot it resulted in the victors ending the day on level points with second-placed Almondbury Lib who won 6-1 at Marsh Lib as the battle for the second promotion place warms up. Brockholes 'B' won the meeting of the bottom two teams and moved off the foot by leapfrogging opponents Shepley 'B'. The Brockholes 'B' team has the opportunity to build on that win when playing their catch-up fixture at Marsh Lib this Friday afternoon.

The Shepley 'A' team had a better day when beating Lindley Lib 5-2 to retain their 5-point lead at the top of Section A as second-placed Netherton Con won by the same scoreline away at bottom team Oakfield. The bottom four teams all lost and there remains 4 points between them as the jostling continues as to which two will succumb to relegation this year.

Honley Con took full advantage of Section B leaders Golcar C&BC being without a match this week to pass them as a result of a 6-1 home win over Skel Windmill 'A'. Skel Windmill 'B' was the League's only whitewash 7-0 winners this week and that edged them nearer to the top two although still 5-points short of the second promotion spot. Marsh United eased any relegation worries with a 5-2 home win over bottom team Primrose Hill Lib who are now seriously adrift and 14-points from safety.
