League News
The League's Bowlsnet pages were taken off-line on Sunday evening a few hours after first being published and remain off-line at present. Presumably some changes are being made which may affect the facts stated below which were deduced from the original publishing of the fixture list.
The Huddersfield League will open it's season on Saturday 19 June with 5 divisions and a total of 57 teams. Thirteen teams in Divisions 1 and 2 and these are both for 12-man teams. Then there is one division (Division 3) of 10-man teams comprised of 14 teams. Divisions 4 and 5 are both for 8-man teams, one of 9 teams and the other of 8 teams. A total of 57 teams compared with the 80 that finished the 2019 season.
Teams will play each other once although no greens have been allocated at present. The two 8-man teams don't start their season until 3 July and will finish by the end of August having played 8 and 7 matches respectively.
The division competitions have lost the Cup names usually associated with these competitions and the trophies will not be presented this year.
