Review of Tuesday's results in Divisions 3,4&5 of the Veterans 10-Man League

A 7-2 Division 3 home win over Hemplow A for Almondbury Lib left them on course for an immediate return to Division 2 and they now have a 14-point lead over 2nd-placed Brockholes A who also had a 7-2 home win this week this time against Linthwaite Hall.
There was a setback for Springwood in their race for the 2nd promotion place when going down 4-5 at home to Thorpe Green and they are now one of 5 teams within 6 points of each other with their eye on promotion. Holmfirth A are in that pack of five after an 8-1 home win over Marsh Lib B who are now perilessly close to dropping through the relegation trap door and a return to where they came from last season. A 0-9 away defeat for Paddock I&C against Lindley Lib B sees them on the fringe of the drop zone but they probably have enough points in the bag to avoid it this year.

An 8-1 home win for Skel Windmill was sufficient to guarantee them promotion out of Division 4 this season. That win, coupled with a 3-6 defeat for third-placed Milnsbridge B, ensured that the Skel team cannot be caught and denied promotion. It could get even better next week when another win could see them crowned as the Division 4 Champions.
With Milnsbridge B losing and Kirkheaton C&BC A having a timely 7-2 away win at bottom team Netherton Con B will surely mean that next week the Cricket Club team will be able to celebrate their promotion as well.
A very good 7-2 away win for Meltham B at the Rugby Club considerably eased their concern about dropping into the relegation places and now it looks like any 2 from 3 as both Primrose Hill Lib and David Brown Sports lost this week and with Netherton Con B losing for an eighth consecutive week they look doomed to be returning to Division 5 after just one season at this level. David Brown Sports could make it a returning duo.

Big wins for the top three in Division 5 keeps the identity of the two teams to be promoted very much under wraps with just three more matches to be played. A second consecutive 9-0 win helped Kirkheaton Con B to tighten their grip on top spot, this time away from home against Greenhead Park. However they just can't shake off Brockholes B who clocked up a good 8-1 away win at Lindley BC B to sit just three points behind the leaders. Hemplow B are hanging on as well after a 6th win from their last 7 fixtures when winning 8-1 at home against Almondbury BC B and are 7 points off the second promotion place.
