Today's Division 1 focus is on the foot of the table battle when Cowcliffe host Clayton West with the visitors hoping to end their losing run and collect a first win of the season. These two teams finished 3rd and 4th last season so it is a surprise to see them occupying the bottom two places at present. The three teams above the bottom pair all have away matches this Tuesday so some room for optimism for the winner of that bottom two clash.
That trio of teams hoping to avoid becoming involved in a relegation fight are (working upwards) Golcar Lib A (away at Marsh United A), Lindley Lib A (away to Elland WMC) and Lockwood Con A at Kirkheaton Con A.
The Elland WMC team sit comfortably in second place at present, one point above a trio of teams on the same 16-points mark. That includes the Elland C&BC side who welcome the leaders, Lowerhouses, to their home base where a big home win could see them overtake the leaders.

We have a Division 2 top versus bottom fixture to speculate upon as the unbeaten leaders, Meltham A travel to play a Shepley team looking for their first win of the 2026 season. Meltham were relegated from Division 1 last season whilst Shepley finished in third place just behind the two Elland teams promoted out of Division 2. After losing all three opening fixtures the Shepley side couldn't pick a harder match next up but they will be hoping that home advantage starts to play a factor in the match outcome this week.
Lindley BC A have also started the season brightly with three straight wins and sit two points behind the leaders but have to go to 4th placed Waterloo this Tuesday. Dipping back down to the relegation places and a look at Broad Oak A who are very much in the drop zone. With a home match against 3rd placed Netherton Con A this week and the three teams above them all on the same 11 points and all playing away matches this week this is an opportunity to narrow, if not smash, that two points gap and take themselves out of immediate danger.
