Review of Tuesday's results in Divisions 3,4&5 of the Veterans 10-Man League

After a run of two away defeats Division 3 leaders, New Mill, A returned to a home fixture and winning ways soon resumed as they beat Lindley Lib B 9-0. With Tuesday defeats for the three teams immediately behind them in the table allowed the New Mill boys to open up a 10-point gap with their eyes set upon the end-of-season title and promotion.

Golcar Lib B, Linthwaite Hall and Broclholes A all lost on their journeys this week with the last named suffering the most going down 2-7 at bottom-of-the-table Holmfirth A. Linthwaite Hall suffered the biggest defeat, 1-8 at Slaithwaite and Golcar Lib having the slightest loss going down 4-5 at Thorpe Green.

Springwood and Skel Windmill completed a programme of six home wins when seeing off Paddock I&C 8-1 and Kirkheaton C&BC A 7-2 respectively.

Kirkheaton Con B keep hold of top place in the Division 4 table following their 6-3 home win over Lockwood Con B and confirmed their superiority over Marsh Lib A who managed a 5-4 away win over lowly Brockholes B. Home wins for the Rugby Club and Thongsbridge B kept things tight between the top four teams who are now only separated by 9 points.

Marsh United B had a key 8-1 home win over Huddersfield Recreation Club, which enabled them to leapfrog their rivals . That pushed the Recreation Club into the bottom five with 16 points between those five teams and things changing each week as the relegation fears begin to materialise for some. That bottom five all lost this week and most of them are involved in increasingly long runs of defeats,

A 7-2 home win for Broad Oak B over the leaders, Netherton Con A pushed them right back into the Division 5 title chase and they are now just 1-point adrift of the leaders. A big 8-1 home win for Primrose Hill Lib over Hemplow B left them right in the thick of things as well. Lindley BC B drop to fourth place after losing 1-8 away to Kirkheaton C&BC B.

All six Tuesday fixtures were won by the home teams so that included big wins for Almondbury BC B (7-2 over Holmfirth B) and Dalton (8-1 over Greenhead Park).
