Veteran's 6-Man League Weekly Preview

The focus this week is on the relegation issues in Sections A and B with key matches lined up this week which may go a long way to resolving the outcome of such matters. In Section A the bottom two teams confront each other, both on 18 points with identical Won-1 Lost-7 records to date. Paddock I&C and Oakfield are both one point behind Lindley Lib who are away to 4th placed Brockholes 'A' so every incentive to step up to the mark with the winning team having a great opportunity to move out of the relegation places.

Primrose Hill Lib have lost all 7 Section B games this season and are unlikely to reverse that run away to high-flying Honley Con this Monday. They are 11 points adrift of the teams above them who make up a pack of 5 teams separated by 4 points with two of those 5 teams facing up to each other this week when Skel Windmill 'B' host Marsh United. They are not the only pairing from that pack of 5 with Clayton West entertaining Meltham and the feel that this could be a pivotal week in the fortunes of teams in the lower regions of both sections.

In Section C Slaithwaite will expect to extend the League's only 100% win record when they have home advantage over Thongsbridge 'A' whilst Holmfirth 'A' play the club's 'B' team needing a win to reduce the two points they sit behind second-placed Almondbury Lib who have to travel to Hemplow. Brockholes 'B' will be looking for 4 points from their trip to play Marsh Lib which would be sufficient to take them off the foot of the table and above Shepley 'B' who don't play this week.

HuddWeb is now providing weekly postings covering the Matchday Preview and Results Round-Up for 5 local bowling leagues - the Mirfield League, Ladies Works League, Veterans 10-Man League, Veterans 6-Man League and the Huddersfield Winter League. Trying to fill the gap left by The Examiner.
