All the results from Thursday's opening rounds in the 2023 Over-70's Pairs KO played at Springwood and Ravensknowle Park. This also reveals the Quarter-Finals draw which will be held at Lowerhouses next Thursday along with the Semi-Finals and Final.
The Springwood results are in the top half of the listing below and show that the Clayton West pairing of Tim Poulter and Edwin Haigh, who were the Pairs KO Champions of 2022 and 2019, were eliminated in the Preliminary Round by 14-21 to the Primrose Hill Lib pairing of Tommy Broadbent and David Jones. Whilst the 2016 Pairs KO winners from Lockwood Con of Eddie Haigh and Mick Cox were also eliminated after winning their Preliminary Round tie before going down 9-21 to the Cowcliffe pair of David Pollard and Derek Hewitt at Ravensknowle Park.
