Veterans League
The next stage of the Over-70's Pairs KO takes place on Friday (2 September) with almost a repeat of the last Final (2019) on the agenda. That was the first time that the competition had been contested after being suggested and sponsored by David Hallas from Brockholes.
Ray Manning and Eddie Haigh of Lockwood Con took the title when it was played for in 2019. Then they beat Barry Gibson and Roy Sutton of Meltham 21-15. This year Barry Gibson has teamed up with Paul Rangeley and they stand in the way of the Champions from progressing through to the Quarter-Finals at Huddersfield RUBC.
A strong line-up in the other half of the draw which includes two pairs of Inter-District bowlers in Mick Cox & Peter Kain (Lockwood Con) and Tim Poulter & Malcolm Gilbert (Clayton West) with matches being played at Almondbury Lib.
