We now know the eight quarter-finalists in this year's Pairs KO competition after the last 16 sorted out the pecking order in yesterday's final qualifying round at Lindley Lib. All eight winning pairs progress to Finals Day which will once again be held at Almondbury Lib with a 1.30pm start time on Thursday 1 June.

One big surprise from the Round of the Last 16 was the elimination of the Longwood scratch pair of Ian Briggs and Robert Dickinson by the Division 3 pair from Skel Windmill of Andrew Clarkson and Graham Roys. The +4 handicap proving to be spot on as the difference between the two pairs panned out. The winners progressing to a quarter-final meeting with the +3 handicap pair of Tim Bolton and Alan Leonard from Golcar Lib.

Only one scratch pair remain in the competition with Graham Hirst and Les Holmes from Lowerhouses progressing through to Finals Day. It promises to be another good day with a new winning pair to be added to the honours list.
