Veterans League
A preview of the fixtures in Divisions 3, 4 and 5 to be played on Tuesday 23 May
All eyes will be on the Division 4 top-of-the-table clash between Springwood and Lindley Lib 'B' whilst Milnsbridge 'B' expect to extend the League's only 100% win record in Division 5 for another week at least.

Almondbury Lib are third in Division 3, level with 2nd placed Denby Dale and one point behind Golcar Lib 'B' but by the end of play on Tuesday they could be top of the pile. A home match against out-of-sorts Lockwood Con 'B' could prove to be the ideal platform to launch a promotion bid as their two main adversaries both face difficult away fixtures this week. The leaders Golcar Lib are at Outlane whilst Denby Dale will not relish a trip to meet 4th placed Brockholes 'A' who lost for the first time last week but their 100% home win record remains intact.
Meltham 'B' are at the foot of the table but a first win last week, 7-2 over Brockholes 'A', will undoubtedly spur them on to better times. A visit to play third from bottom Kirkheaton C&BC 'A' this week should hold no fear if they can reproduce their form of last week. Paddock I&C lost for the first time in 5 matches last week and will be pleased to be at home this week to take on Skel Windmill and the chance to rejoin the promotion tussle. Five teams are involved in that chase with only four points between them at present.
We have a real top-of-the-table encounter in Division 4 as the top two teams meet at Springwood where the leaders, Lindley Lib 'B' are the visitors. With only one point between the two teams there is every chance of a change of leadership by the end of the day. Marsh Lib will be an interested observer in that outcome as they sit in third place six points behind the leaders but having played one less match. A trip to play bottom of the table Lindley BC 'B' should hold no fears for them and indeed could be the springboard to better times ahead. The teams in 8th and 9th positions meet as they try to prevent their induction to the relegation battle as Kirkheaton Con 'B' take on Ravensknowle Park.
Second v third is the feature match in Division 5 with David Brown Sports hosting Brockholes 'B' who are separated by a single point. However Milnsbridge BC 'B' stay clear at the top courtesy of the League's only unbeaten record this season and a home match against third-from-bottom Kirkheaton C&BC 'B' should hold little fear of that record being seriously threatened this week.
