A review of the Division 1 & 2 matches played on Wednesday 13 December

New Mill A return to head the Division 1 table after the latest round of fixtures where they beat Lowerhouses A 8-0 to overtake Thorpe Green A who were without a match this week. That took Lowerhouse's winless run to 5 matches as they continue their slide down the table which needs addressing before they find themselves making an immediate return to Division 2.

Kirkheaton Con A had a first win of the season when beating Golcar Lib 8-0 who drop into the bottom spot vacated by the Kirkheaton Con team who jump three places and out of the drop zone, Meltham find themselves back in the bottom two after a 0-8 reversal against a Lindley BC A side that has settled well at this level after their promotion.

Lower Hopton made it three wins on the bounce after beating Clayton West 6-2 to close in on the top order and retain hopes of a successful second defence of their title.

Cowcliffe A extended their win record to seven Division 2 matches by beating Sprngwood A 6-2 and at the same time extending their lead to 14 points. Milnsbridge contributed to that situation by losing 2-6 to Lindley BC B who made it four wins from their last five fixtures. That made the two teams level on points along with Denby Dale who picked up a fourth consecutive win by beating Lindley Lib A by 6-2. It increasingly looks as if these three teams are fighting for the second promotion place with Lindley Lib A slipping out of contention and 8 points off the pace at present.

Brockholes A won again this time with a 6-2 scoreline over Huddersfield Recreation Club A, with those two points sufficient to lift the Recreation Club off bottom place so leaving Lockwood Con A at the foot of the table after a bye week.
