Great news about a brand new 4-green bowling centre opening in Todmorden next month. This seems like the kind of initiative to kick-start bowling in the area. Lets wish them every success and then hopefully hold it up as a model for other bowling centres to follow in the future.
Todmorden Bowls Academy aims to provide space and time for people of all ages to learn the sport of Crown Green Bowls. With four beautiful bowling greens in the tranquil setting of Centre Vale Park, it seemed a no-brainer to try to get more people to use the greens and enjoy themselves as they learn to play a new sport.
Weekly sessions, Sunday afternoons, 13.00 - 1500 to begin with.
Later, Saturday morning sessions.
You'll be welcomed and coached through the learning circuit and then offered increased challenge levels, varying weekly. Progress will of course include playing the full crown green game!
Bowls available at no charge; suitable for all ages, from 4 to 94, maybe more!
Wear flat shoes, preferably not open sandals.
Dress rehearsals taking place currently on Sundays in June. You're welcome to watch, maybe act as a test group.
Official opening date probably Sunday July 11th.
