Bowling Quiz
Here are the answers to Week 2 of our competition where we challenge you to name local bowling greens from satellite shots provided by Google Maps. Three greens a day for four days (Monday to Thursday) this week with all the answers today.
I have been told that this format is too difficult and I have listened and will do something about that. Next Monday (27th) I have a one-off 5-Green Quiz which should be easier and then coming up will be some more Google Greens for you to identify but I will provide much wider photos to make life easier for you all.
Back to this week's 12 greens and the Word Search answer was WOOD being derived from the first letter of the first photo on each of the 4 days - DALTON (No.1), OVERTHORPE (4), OUTLANE (7) and WATERLOO (10) then mix them all up to come out with WOOD.
WEEK 2 ANSWERS
DALTON Word Search Letter 'D'
The clues to this one are the cricket boundary in the top right corner and the narrow car park top left.
2. SKELMANTHORPE CENTRAL
The clues here are in the car park at the top of the picture and the grassy access road to the right of the green.
3. SHEPLEY
The car park around the clubhouse is one clue to this green and the croquet field bottom right another.
4. OVERTHORPE Word Search Letter 'O'
The car park is a clue as are the football goalposts in the bottom left and the cricket field and boundary top left.
5. THONGSBRIDGE
A clue in the piece of the tennis court top right and the greenside car park bottom left.
6. LOWERHOUSES
The access road in from the mid-right is a good clue.
7. OUTLANE
Word Search Letter 'O'
The two rows of bench seats are clues with one row of 5 in front of the clubhouse top right and a row of 4 top left.
8. BRADLEY & COLNE
The main clue is in the rows of steps mid-left. The car park is a decoy as it has nothing to do with the club.
9. PRIMROSE HILL LIB
Again the car park is a good clue at the bottom of the photo.
10. WATERLOO
Word Search Letter 'W'
The greenside coverings all down the left hand side coupled with the wide standing area at the top of the photos should have led you to identifying this one.
11. MARSH UNITED
The small car park top left and the covered stand top middle are the real clues to this one.
12. MOLDGREEN CON
The new car park at the foot of the photo and the new access road to the right of the green leading to the car park should have helped you guess this one.
