Marsh Utd duo dress up to win Veterans Pairs title

Marsh United bowlers Steve Mallinson and Andy Carter are the Veterans League Pairs KO Champions for 2023 after yesterday's Finals Day at Almondbury Lib. They beat the Longwood pairing of Alan Crowther and David Walkden in the Final which was close up to 14-12 to the Longwood pair before the new Champions took over to run out 21-15 victors. Things didn't start too well with Steve having to find some black trousers to comply with the dresscode before being allowed to compete. But it was their opponents that were caught with their trousers down as the Marsh United pairing pushed the first of two Longwood pairs aside when beating Ian Crawford and Barry Tinker 21-15 before producing the performance of the day. That came with the 21-4 beating of the Lowerhouses scratch pair of Les Holmes and Graham Hirst in the semi-finals.
